Clann Gatherings, Genealogical Research and Bespoke Tours of Ireland and Scotland
In July 2023 I hosted my first O'Dochartaigh Clann Reunion (Ireland) through my organisation, Irish Ancestral Group which was a great success. My latest Reunion for this Clann was in July 2025 here in NW Ireland at which over 200 delegates attended over a week of Clann celebrations. Additionally, I also hosted 30 guests as part of a VIP tour attached to the Reunion who spent 21 nights taking in the sights of Scotland and Ireland as well as going to all of the Reunion events 16-22 July. As you can imagine July was a particularly busy month for me. Clann research and the application of family history to land records is my forte. I have been based here in Inishowen, Co. Donegal for most of my life (with ten years also in Scotland) and have done extensive research into many lines within the various Clanns and Septs of both Ireland and Scotland due to my own genealogical background.
As well as hosting Clann Gatherings, I also undertake genealogical research (information to follow) and I create tailor-made tours in association with the findings, but also in terms of exploring Ireland (and Scotland too - since many with Irish roots also have Scottish origins also) in a more general way. In addition to the professional genealogical research I undertake, I also create bespoke tours (anything from one day tours to fully curated tours of Ireland and Scotland) for guests to come and choose their own adventure. Everything is tailored to your own tastes, choices and wishes. I will provide lots of information and will make suggestions based on our conversation. We would have a zoom call (or two) to introduce ourselves and to discuss the outline of an itinerary. A small non-refundable fee then secures a first draft of your crafted itinerary to make changes if you wish or to add to. Once happy with the tour plan, we proceed to full booking. The itinerary fee is deducted from the full booking if you go ahead.
