Every family enquiry begins with a different set of questions. You may be hoping to identify an ancestor’s birthplace, explore an earlier generation or understand a family’s journey from Ireland. Our packages provide different amounts of research time, allowing us to agree an approach that reflects what you already know and what you would like to discover.
Before you choose
Think About The Scope Of Your Research
Take a little time to consider the questions you would most like answered, the information you already hold and how far you hope to take the research. Finding a particular record is a different undertaking from investigating a family line across several generations, especially where the starting information is limited or an ancestor emigrated many years ago.

Choose Time For The Questions That Matter
Each package below covers one surname line, as time and the available evidence allow. The examples describe the type of research that may be undertaken; the scope of your own commission will be based on the information you provide.
For a more extensive investigation
Package 3 · The Comprehensive Package
When your questions extend beyond the more readily available records, the Comprehensive Package gives us time to pursue a wider range of sources and consider how the findings fit together. It is particularly worth considering where an ancestor emigrated before the mid-1800s, or where you would like a more extensive investigation of a family line.
Depending on relevance and availability, work may include civil and church records, census returns, wills, employment and emigration records, alongside sources such as military, pension and workhouse records.

The Starter Package

A smaller commission for a focused enquiry into one surname line. Depending on complexity, research may include civil birth, marriage and death records and local church records. The limited research time makes it useful to identify clear priorities at the outset.

For an investigation requiring more time than the Starter Package allows. Work on one surname line may draw on civil and church records, Irish census returns and wills, according to the questions agreed and the records available for your family.

An extensive programme of research on one surname line, brought together in a family history book. Alongside the wider sources used in genealogical research, work may include land records and investigating an ancestral home where the evidence allows.

Timescales are estimates and may increase during busy periods. The survival and content of records affect what can be established, so no package guarantees a particular result or number of generations.

Clear Scope, Fees And Findings
Your report and the research time
Each report is tailored to the commission and sets out the research undertaken, sources used, findings and possible avenues for further work. Package time covers the professional work involved in planning, investigating and assessing your enquiry. Your existing research and priorities help us direct that time usefully.
Additional costs
Package prices do not include travel or out-of-pocket expenses. Genealogical civil certificates are charged at €30 each; long-form certificates are €50 each, plus packaging and shipping where required. Land searches are €150 per five-year period for each individual farm. Additional fees will be advised in advance, and a printed report can be quoted separately.
Payment and starting the research
All prices are in euros. The agreed contract and payment in full are required before research begins. Extra work or expenses will be discussed before the scope is extended. After submitting your details and selecting a package, you can continue to secure Stripe checkout. Card checkout shows the package fee plus the 4.7% processing charge.
One-off or specialist services
If you need a specific look-up, house history, citizenship documentation or probate research, please tell us the purpose and details of your enquiry. These services can require a separate quotation rather than one of the family history packages.

3. Review And Pay Online
Review your selected package and the terms before proceeding to secure payment. Please use the same name and email for your form and payment so we can match them to your request.
Choose your package within the form. If you need advice first, select the advice option and we will respond by email. Research begins after the scope is agreed and full payment is received.
